About solv&kopper

Hello my name is Martina.

The story of solv&kopper started a few years ago once I realised that I couldn't find the jewellery I liked in the shops. I've always loved unusual shapes and raw, unfinished feel of rings and earrings. That made me think of learning the jewellery making process and started to experiment just for fun. This then developed into the years of passion and experimenting in jewellery craft.

Evening classes in BCU in the historical Birmingham Jewellery Quarter gave me a platform to try different techniques and explore various methods in jewellery making. I found my style of making unique pieces with raw, unfinished textures but minimalistic at the same time. For majority of my work I focus on creating edgy and unstructured pieces by lost wax casting method. Having used a variation of materials in the past, I chose to work with recycled silver. The way the soft tone of silver lends itself to the shapes and texture has made it a perfect choice for my jewellery pieces.

solv&kopper is about exploring yourself, your emotions and feelings and finding that raw, imperfect piece of yourself and transforming it into a wearable art form.
